The Delaware state file number is the number that the state of Delaware issues to each new company at the time of formation. Your company file number will be formatted with seven numbers; for example, 1234567. Each new Delaware company will have a state file number one digit higher than the company before it.

Being in good standing allows a corporation, LLC, or other statutory entity in Delaware to maintain the rights and privileges of doing business as that statutory entity. Good standing certificates are required when expanding to other states and may be required for financing, business transactions, and licensing.

A certified copy of your Articles of Organization or Articles of Incorporation can be ordered by fax, mail or in person, but we recommend faxing. Normal processing varies and can take up to 3 weeks, plus additional time for mailing, and costs $50, plus $2 per page.
